October, 1964Established as an after-sales service company for copiers of Ricoh Co., Ltd. under the trade name of Shinmei Shokai Co., Ltd. in Ota-ku, Tokyo.
June, 1965Subcontracted Kanto area’s after-sales service business of Hassler postage instruments and stamp tax payment instruments from Japan Postal Flanker Co., Ltd.
December, 1975Subcontracted Kanto area’s after-sales service business of Bam-type label printing machine from Japan Postal Flanker Co., Ltd.
March, 1977Opened Matsumoto sales office. Acquired sales rights for Hustler postage instruments and Bam-type label printing machines from Japan Postal Flanker Co., Ltd. and started sales.
April, 1980Opened Niigata sales office.
April, 1981Established a development department in the head office and started development of original equipment.
April, 1984Opened Nagano factory. Started production of labels related to handling equipment.
June, 1985Released check stamper the CS-85 series, the first in-house original equipment. Started as a manufacturer. Started selling stampers mainly in the financial and egg industry.
September, 1986Opened Tokyo sales office. Established a sales office in Kanto Area aiming to expand sales channels.
August, 1987Opened Saku factory. Started production of original equipment and increased production capacity.
October, 1987Opened Osaka sales office.
March, 1989Changed company name to Shinmei Co., Ltd.
September, 1991Opened Nagoya sales office.
August, 1993Released initial model of labeler “ALS-350N”.
May, 1994Released initial model “ALS-100” series.
February, 1996Opened Kyushu sales office.
April, 1997Moved the engineering department from the headquarters (Ota-ku, Tokyo) to the Tokyo sales office.
August, 1997Released initial model of direct thermal printer “CPS-354”.
August, 2000Released initial model “ALS-100EPCX”.
February, 2002Return all contract after-sales service businesses such as Hustler postage meters to Japan Postal Flanker Co., Ltd.
Completely left from sales business and maintenance business for those equipment.
April, 2002Integrated headquarters with Tokyo sales office. Moved the head office to New Kanto Building, Taito-ku, Tokyo.
July, 2003Opened Tohoku sales office.
October, 2009Released direct thermal printer for packaging machine “SCS400” series.
April, 2012Established overseas division in Tokyo headquarters.
February, 2014Established a local corporation in China.
April 2014Celebrated the 50th anniversary.
June, 2014Moved the headquarters to the current address of Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, due to the aging of the New Kanto Building.
July, 2014Established overseas business division.
Started overseas development.
November, 2018Carried out employee trip to Taiwan on the 55th anniversary.
August, 2019Changed the name from Saku Factory to Nagano Tomi Factory along with the construction of a new factory in Tomi-City in Nagano Prefecture.
